About Us
Moorleigh Residential Care Home is in Torquay, providing residential care for older people who can no longer manage safely on their own, and supporting people managing mental health conditions, people living with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss and younger adults.
We aim for the feel of a household rather than an institution, with people keeping their own routines, their own belongings and a genuine say in how their day goes. Where somebody has a physical disability or sight or hearing loss, good support is mostly about practical adjustments and about not quietly taking over tasks that a person can still manage.
Respite stays are available too, for people who need care for a short period and for family carers who need a proper break.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We take that as the standard to hold rather than an achievement to rest on. The better test is whether people here seem settled and whether they feel able to tell us when something is not working. Please come and see for yourself.
