About Georgian House

We are Georgian House, a residential care home in Torquay. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people living with mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available. That is a wide range of needs living under one roof, and it only works if we plan properly. Somebody who wants a sociable, busy day and somebody who needs quiet and an entirely predictable routine can both live well here, provided we pay attention to who needs what and when. So we ask, we observe, and we adapt rather than running everyone to the same timetable. The help itself covers personal care, medication, meals and mobility, and we are just as concerned with supporting what people can still do themselves. Independence lost unnecessarily is very hard to get back. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until we have, we would encourage you to come and see the home and ask us detailed questions about staffing, training and how care is planned here. Families and friends are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us if you would like to look round.
