About Cedarwood Lodge (Active Prospects)

Cedarwood Lodge is a residential care home in Redhill supporting adults with a learning disability or autism, including younger adults and older people, and adults with a physical disability. We offer permanent places and respite stays. The house is run so that the people living in it make the everyday decisions: what is cooked, how the day is spent, whether today is one for going out or staying in, who comes to visit and when. Staff are here to make those choices workable and to step back from what somebody can manage alone or wants to learn to manage. Where a person wants to build skills, we support it at their pace. Cooking, shopping, handling money, using the bus, keeping up a job or a course. Confidence is the measure that matters here, and it does not arrive on a schedule. Communication gets close attention. Several of the people we support get their point across in ways other than speech, and understanding somebody properly is what allows them to direct their own life rather than have it organised around them. Redhill and the surrounding area are on the doorstep and people here use them, keeping up interests and friendships from before they moved in. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place or a respite stay in Surrey, please get in touch and come and see the house.
