About Us
Horse Fair Care Home is in Rugeley, providing residential care for older people, including those living with dementia and residents with a physical disability.
We help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and whatever else has become difficult, and we leave people in charge of the rest. Residents decide when they get up and go to bed, where they spend the day, what they eat and whether they want company or a quiet afternoon on their own.
For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent, explain what is happening as we go and take time to work out what lies behind a change in mood rather than treating it as a symptom. Where somebody has a physical disability the right equipment is in place and staff are trained to help with moving safely and comfortably, without fuss and without taking over.
Meals are cooked here and we ask people what they actually want to eat. Visitors are welcome at any reasonable time, and families are free to stay for a cup of tea or take a relative out for the afternoon.
Respite stays are available for family carers needing a break or for somebody regaining strength after illness. Please ring us if you would like to come and look round properly.
