About Us
The Pines is a residential care home in Burton on Trent supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing. Most of the people living here are younger adults.
We should be open about our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, which is requires improvement. We would rather raise it ourselves. We know which areas were identified, we have a plan of work under way covering staff training and supervision, our record keeping, and how people and their families are involved in decisions, and we are glad to talk through where we have got to with anyone considering us.
The work of the house continues properly meanwhile. This is the home of the people who live in it. They arrange their own rooms, take part in the shopping and cooking as much as they want to, and are supported to get out to work, college, clubs and family. Communication gets particular attention, and where somebody has sensory loss we adapt how we approach and announce ourselves.
Short respite stays are available. Please come and see the house and ask us anything.

Ask the home. The home has not told us its pet policy yet. Ask directly; some homes allow small pets in residents' rooms or welcome visiting dogs.

Ask the home. We do not know whether the home has rooms for couples. Ask about shared or adjoining rooms if this matters.
Will the council help pay, or is it self funded only?
Ask the home. The home has not told us which funding it accepts. Most homes take both council funded and self funded residents; ask about council rates and any top up. Use our funding calculator to check what you might pay.

Yes. The Pines supports younger adults as well as older people. Source: CQC register
Can I visit before deciding, and are there visiting hours?
Ask the home. Every home should welcome a visit. Call to arrange one, ideally at a mealtime or during an activity, and ask about visiting hours for family.
