About Us
Ashby Road is a small residential care home in Burton On Trent, Staffordshire, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism. We work mainly with younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for those who need support for a shorter period or whose usual carer needs a break.
The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us outstanding overall. We are pleased about that, though what matters more day to day is that the people who live here have lives they actually want.
Being small is the point rather than a limitation. People here know each other and know the staff well, and daily life feels like a household rather than a service being delivered. Residents have their own rooms and a genuine say in how their days go, what they eat and how they spend their time.
Our job is to support people to be as independent as they want to be. Some are building skills around cooking, money, travel or work. Others want steady, familiar support so that life stays comfortable. We plan support with each person, using whatever way of communicating suits them best, and we take real care to understand what helps somebody feel settled and what causes them stress.
Families and advocates are genuinely welcome. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
