About Us
Far Fillimore Rest Home provides residential care in Burton on Trent for older people, including people living with dementia. We also take planned respite stays.
Most of what makes a care home work is undramatic and daily. Getting up when you want to, food you actually want to eat, a familiar face on shift, and somebody noticing when you are quieter than usual. That is where we concentrate our effort. For residents living with dementia, familiarity and a calm unhurried approach prevent far more distress than they ever cost, so we keep the day recognisable and let people do things at the pace they can manage.
We would rather be plain about our inspection position than leave families to discover it elsewhere. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We are not going to argue with the findings. They described genuine shortfalls, and our manager and staff team have been working through them, with tighter medicines practice, clearer record keeping, more training and supervision, and regular internal checks so that problems surface quickly rather than quietly.
There is more to do and we will not pretend otherwise. If you are thinking about Far Fillimore for somebody you love, please come and see us, ask what has actually changed since the inspection, and speak to residents and relatives while you are here.
