About Us
Ash Tree House is a residential care home in Burton on Trent, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. Most of those living here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays.
We treat this as somebody's home rather than a placement. People arrange their own rooms, have a real say in the food and the shopping, and are involved in how the household runs. Where somebody can do something themselves, our job is to make that possible rather than to do it more quickly for them, even when the quicker route is tempting on a busy morning.
Where somebody wants a job, a course or a club, that is the purpose of the support rather than an addition to it. It is usually what makes the rest of the week worth arranging.
Predictability matters a great deal here. For many of those living with us, knowing what is happening and who will be on shift is what makes a day workable, so we plan ahead and explain changes early rather than rearranging casually.
We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that plainly. Anyone considering this home is welcome to visit without an appointment and ask us whatever they want to ask.
