About Us
Silversea Lodge is a residential care home in Westcliff on Sea. We are home to older people, both for the longer term and for shorter respite stays when a family carer needs a break.
Our priorities are plain: food worth eating, warm rooms, laundry that comes back, help without a long wait, and privacy when it is wanted. Residents set their own hours rather than fitting ours, and an afternoon with nothing arranged in it is a perfectly good afternoon.
Being close to the sea is genuinely useful. Getting out for some air, weather permitting, or simply sitting somewhere with a view, does more for most people than anything we could organise indoors.
We take real trouble over knowing people: the working life, the family, which chair is theirs, how they take their tea. Those details are how somebody stays a person here rather than becoming a resident.
Respite guests get the same preparation as anybody else, since a fortnight leaves no room for guesswork.
The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. Families are welcome to arrive unannounced and see us on an ordinary day.

Ask the home. The home has not told us its pet policy yet. Ask directly; some homes allow small pets in residents' rooms or welcome visiting dogs.
