About Us

Astral Lodge is a residential home in Westcliff on Sea providing care for older people, including those living with dementia.

Coming into a care home is a big step and most people arrive having lost something, whether that is a partner, their mobility or their confidence. We try to give some of it back. That starts with knowing who somebody is rather than just what they need, so we ask about their history, their family and the things they have always enjoyed, and we use that to shape their days.

Our staff help with personal care, with getting about safely, with medication and with meals and drinks. Where dementia is part of the picture we keep routines steady and surroundings familiar, and we work on the principle that behaviour is communication rather than something to be corrected.
