About Us

Bali Hai Care Home is in Westcliff On Sea, Essex, and we support adults living with mental ill health. We offer both longer term places and respite stays. Working with people whose difficulties are primarily to do with mental health is a particular job, and we have built the house around it rather than treating it as an extra. Much of what helps is not dramatic. A settled, low pressure place to live. A routine that holds without being imposed. Support with medication that respects somebody's own understanding of it. Help with the practical things that slip when somebody is unwell, such as shopping, cooking, cleaning, appointments and money. Staff who notice early when things are changing and act rather than waiting for a crisis. We work closely with community mental health teams, care coordinators and GPs, because what happens here has to fit with the rest of somebody's care. We also take the view that people should have as much say as possible over their own lives, so plans are written with the individual and reviewed honestly, and where somebody wants to take a risk we look for ways to support it safely. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
