About Us
Kingsclere Court is a care home in Westcliff on Sea. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. We would rather say that here than let a family come across it later, and we would encourage anybody considering us to visit and judge the home on what they see rather than on what we write.
What we are building is a place where the day belongs to the residents. People get up when they want, eat what they want and spend their time where they choose. Rooms belong to the people in them, with their own furniture and pictures, and relatives call in when it suits them.
Where sight or hearing has failed, we take care to say who has come into the room, to describe what is happening and to keep belongings where the person expects to find them. Small habits, but they decide whether somebody feels part of things or left out of them.
Please come and look round and take your time deciding.
