About Us

Dovehaven Residential Care Home is in Southport, Sefton, and provides a home for older people who need support with daily living. We care for residents living with dementia or a mental health condition, people with a physical disability and those living with a visual or hearing impairment, and we also support younger adults. Respite stays are available for shorter periods.

We want daily life here to feel ordinary. Residents choose when to get up, how to spend their time and what they want to eat. Meals are cooked on the premises and preferences are remembered, down to how somebody takes their tea. There is company for those who want it and quiet for those who do not.

Our staff take time to learn what helps a particular resident feel settled and what unsettles them, which matters enormously for anyone living with dementia or managing a mental health condition. For residents with a sensory impairment we make sure they are not left out of their own day.

We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather say that plainly than leave it unsaid, and we are happy to talk you through how we work, how we train our staff and how we check our own standards.

Families are welcome at any reasonable time. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
