About Us

Here at Abingdon, we are proud to be a care home based in Southport, Sefton, offering a warm and welcoming environment for the people who live with us. We support a wide range of individuals, including older adults, younger adults, people living with a learning disability or autism, and those experiencing mental health needs. We also provide respite care for those who need a short break or temporary support.

We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a person and their family can make, and we take that responsibility seriously. Our aim is straightforward: to make sure everyone who comes through our doors feels safe, respected, and genuinely at home. We take the time to get to know each person as an individual, understanding their preferences, routines, and the things that matter most to them in daily life.

Residential care at Abingdon is built around real relationships. The people who live here are not defined by their care needs, and we work hard to support independence, dignity, and a sense of community. Whether someone is with us long term or just for a short respite stay, we want their experience to feel comfortable and personal rather than clinical or institutional.

We are pleased that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of good, which reflects the commitment of our whole team to consistently delivering care that we can stand behind. We are always looking at how we can do better and welcome open conversations with residents and families about how things are going.

If you would like to find out more about life at Abingdon or arrange a visit, please do get in touch. We are always happy to talk and show you around.
