About Us

Marston Court is a residential care home in Oxford, part of The Orders of St John Care Trust. We support older people, including residents living with dementia, and we offer respite care for planned short stays.

Moving into a care home is a considerable thing to ask of anyone, so we try to make the practical side of it calm and unhurried. Before somebody arrives we spend time with them and with the people who know them best, because it is the small details that decide how quickly a person settles. How they take their tea. Whether they are early risers. What work they did. Who they want to hear from. All of that shapes how we support them from the first day rather than sitting unread in a file.

After that, the day belongs to the resident. People choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Meals are proper meals and we take note of what people genuinely enjoy. Company and activity are offered rather than imposed, and someone who wants a quiet afternoon with the paper is not a problem to be solved.

Dementia support runs through the whole home rather than being kept to one side. We keep surroundings familiar, avoid rushing anybody, and take the time to understand what settles a particular resident.

Respite stays are arranged with the same care as a permanent move. Visitors are welcome without ceremony. If you would like to look round, please contact us and we will arrange a convenient time.
