About Sandpiper
Sandpiper is a residential care home in Weston super Mare, supporting adults who need help with everyday living in a house that feels like a home. The people who live here are a mixed group. Some have a learning disability or are autistic, some are managing mental health conditions, and some are living with a physical disability. We support younger adults as well as older people, and what holds all of that together is treating everyone as an individual with their own history, opinions and plans. Our starting point is always the person. We find out how they communicate, what they want help with, what they would rather do themselves and what matters enough to be worth protecting. Support plans are written with them, and with families or advocates where that is wanted, and we change them as circumstances change. Where somebody wants to build skills or confidence, our role is to be alongside them rather than ahead of them. We also offer respite stays, giving family carers a planned break while their relative stays somewhere welcoming and well staffed. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased with that, though what we watch most closely is whether the people living here are content with their days. If you would like to see Sandpiper, please get in touch and arrange a visit. Come and look around, meet the staff and ask us whatever you want to know.
