About Us
Here at Abbeygate, we are a residential care home based in Weston Super Mare, North Somerset, and we are proud to offer a warm and genuinely homely environment for the people who live with us.
We support older adults across a range of needs, including residential care, dementia care and respite care. Whether someone is joining us for a short stay to recover or rest, or making Abbeygate their long term home, we work hard to make sure they feel settled, respected and valued from the moment they arrive.
Dementia care is something we take seriously. We understand how important it is for people living with dementia to have consistency, familiarity and calm surroundings, and we shape our approach around what matters most to each individual. We take the time to get to know residents properly, their histories, their preferences and the little things that make their day better.
Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us as Good, and that reflects the effort our whole team puts in every day. We do not see this as a ceiling though. We are always looking at how we can improve and make life here as comfortable and fulfilling as possible.
Life at Abbeygate is about more than receiving care. We want residents to feel at home, to enjoy their days and to maintain connections with the people who matter to them. Family and friends are always welcome, and we encourage involvement in the life of the home.
We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a family can make, and we never take that trust lightly. If you would like to find out more or come and have a look around, please do get in touch. We would love to show you what Abbeygate is all about.

Ask the home. The home has not told us its pet policy yet. Ask directly; some homes allow small pets in residents' rooms or welcome visiting dogs.

Will the council help pay, or is it self funded only?
Ask the home. The home has not told us which funding it accepts. Most homes take both council funded and self funded residents; ask about council rates and any top up. Use our funding calculator to check what you might pay.
