About Us
Bay Tree House is a residential care home in Norwich, offering older people a comfortable place to live with support always close at hand. We try to keep the feel of a household, with days shaped by the people living them rather than by a timetable.
A large part of our work is supporting residents living with dementia. We do that by learning who somebody is, keeping routines familiar and the day unhurried, explaining changes in advance, and treating distress as something with a cause rather than something to be contained. Our team helps with personal care, medication, mobility and meals, and equally with company, fresh air, music and conversation for those who want them.
Relatives are welcome whenever they can come, and we would far rather people dropped in than waited to be invited. Respite stays are available for people who need care for a short period.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Requires Improvement. We prefer to say that at the outset rather than have a family discover it later. We understood the findings, we have been working through them steadily, and we are happy to talk about exactly what has changed.
Please come and see us at an ordinary hour and judge the place on what you actually find.
