About The Croft

The Croft is a residential care home in Diss, Norfolk. We are a small home and our day runs around the people living here rather than a fixed timetable, which means people get up when they are ready, spend their time as they wish and keep their own routines and belongings around them. We provide residential care for older people, and we also support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, including younger adults. That mix works because our approach is the same in every case, which is to get to know a person properly, understand how they communicate and what matters to them, and then build the support around that. Where someone can do more for themselves, we look for the chances to make that happen rather than stepping in out of habit. We offer respite stays as well, for people who need care for a short period and for family carers who need a genuine break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We would rather say that plainly. We have gone through the findings carefully and our focus has been on the things that shape daily life here rather than on paperwork alone. Anyone thinking about The Croft is welcome to visit, talk to the team and ask us directly what we have changed and how we are making sure it sticks.
