About Hazeldown Care Home
Hazeldown Care Home in Dereham provides residential care for adults living with mental health conditions. What we offer first is stability. Most of the people who come to live here have had a long period in which very little has been settled, and a predictable place with familiar staff and a routine that does not change without warning does more good in the early months than anything else. Everybody has their own room and their own way of going about the day. Staff are here at every hour to help with practical matters, to prompt and support with medication and to talk when that is what is needed. We work closely with the mental health professionals involved in each person's care so that the approach stays consistent rather than shifting from one month to the next. A great deal of what we do is deliberately ordinary, because ordinary things are what rebuild confidence. Cooking, shopping, looking after your own room, managing money, keeping appointments and getting out locally are all things we do alongside people rather than for them. Respite stays can be arranged where appropriate. If you are looking for a placement for yourself or somebody you support, please contact us and come and see us.
