About Dunsford

Ours is a small residential care home in Spilsby, supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. It is a house rather than an institution, and the people who live here are tenants of their own lives: they have their own rooms, their own things, their own routines and their own opinions about how the day should go. Support is worked out with each person rather than applied to them. For some that means help with personal care and everyday practical tasks. For others it is about getting out and about, keeping up with work, college or interests, managing money, cooking, and having someone steady alongside in situations that might otherwise be overwhelming. We pay close attention to how each person communicates and to what in their surroundings helps them feel settled, because getting those things right heads off a great deal of difficulty before it starts. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family a planned break and can let someone get to know us gradually rather than all at once. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep checking with the people who live here, in whatever way works for them, that they are happy with how things are. If you would like to visit and see whether this might suit, please get in touch.
