About Us

Laughton Croft Care Home is in Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. We support older people and younger adults, including people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available.

Supporting mental health in a residential setting is largely a matter of steadiness rather than intervention. We keep to arrangements we have made. We notice when somebody seems unlike themselves without turning it into an interrogation. We make it easy to talk to us without a formal appointment, and we are as reliable on the difficult weeks as on the good ones. Progress is rarely a straight line and our job is not to be surprised by that.

This is people's home and we treat it accordingly. Rooms are theirs to arrange. People decide how their days go, who they see, whether they want company or their own space. We knock before we come in, we ask rather than assume, and we are quite prepared to be disagreed with.

Where a physical disability affects how somebody gets about, we design around the person rather than expecting them to accommodate the building, and we are careful that help with one task does not become help with everything.

We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. You are very welcome to visit, look around and ask us whatever you need to know.
