About Mountearl
We are Mountearl, a residential care home in Lambeth, south London. We support older people and younger adults, including adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and people living with a mental health condition, and we offer respite stays. The people we support often have needs that overlap in ways the usual categories do not capture. Somebody may have a learning disability and be managing a mental health condition as well, and support that addresses only one of those will not hold up for long. So we plan around the person and take the time to find out what genuinely helps on a good day and on a difficult one. Consistency does most of the work. Familiar staff, a routine somebody can rely on, information given in a form they can actually use, and people who do not take a bad day personally. Where a routine matters we protect it rather than asking for flexibility that suits us. Choice runs through the day as far as it can, and where a decision needs support we support it rather than making it. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
