About Baytree Lodge
Baytree Lodge is a residential care home in Barnet supporting adults who need help with daily living, including adults living with mental health conditions. Ours is a household rather than a unit, and we think that matters more than it might sound. People come and go, use the kitchen, have visitors and organise their own time as far as they are able. The support sits underneath ordinary life rather than replacing it. Good mental health support is largely a matter of consistency and knowing people well. We work with the same residents over long periods, we learn what a difficult stretch looks like for each person and what tends to help, and we keep close working relationships with community mental health teams, GPs and social workers so that support does not fall apart between one part of the system and another. Some of the people living here are working towards greater independence and eventually a tenancy of their own, and we plan that with them rather than for them. Respite stays are available, whether to give a family carer a planned break or to provide extra support through a difficult period. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
