About Ambleside Lodge
Ambleside Lodge is a residential care home in Lambeth, south London, supporting adults who need help with daily living, with much of our work being alongside people managing mental health conditions. Stability looks different for everybody, and we try not to arrive with assumptions about what it should mean for any one person. Some people come to us after a long spell in hospital and want somewhere settled in which to rebuild an ordinary life. Others have found that living alone stopped working and want support without losing control of their own decisions. We begin by asking what the person wants their life to look like, and we build from that answer rather than from a template. In practice that means help with the practical things where it is wanted, from medication and appointments to cooking, budgeting and keeping in touch with the people who matter. It also means staff who will sit and talk, who notice when someone is struggling before it becomes a crisis, and who take a person's own account of how they are seriously. We support younger adults as well as older residents, and we offer respite stays where a planned break with support in place would help. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to see Ambleside Lodge, please get in touch and arrange to visit.
