About St. Helens House

St. Helens House is a residential care home in Sheerness supporting a broad range of adults. Many of our residents are older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people with mental health needs, residents with a physical disability and some younger adults. That range means assessment matters. Before anybody moves in we want to be sure we can meet their needs properly and that the placement will work for them and for the people already living here, and we say so honestly when we think we are not the right place. Support is planned one person at a time. For one resident that may mean help with most of the day, including personal care and help to move safely. For another it may mean very little practical help but a good deal of structure and staff who understand how they communicate. For residents living with dementia we keep the house familiar and the staff consistent. For residents with mental health needs a calm household and staff who notice when something has shifted do most of the good, and we work with local services and doctors. Respite stays are available and give family carers a proper break. Please contact us if you would like to visit and see how the home runs.
