About Us
Lime Tree House is a residential home in Lewes, and we look after older people who have reached the point where living alone has become harder than it used to be. We are part of the town rather than set apart from it, which means family and friends can call in easily and people who have lived locally for years still feel they are somewhere they recognise.
What we offer is fairly straightforward: warm rooms, proper meals cooked on the premises, help with washing and dressing given discreetly, and staff who have the time to sit down and talk. We ask about the small preferences that often get lost when somebody moves, from what time a person likes to get up to how they take their tea, and we pass those things on so that nobody has to keep explaining themselves.
Days here are not heavily organised. There is usually something going on for those who want it, and quiet corners for those who do not. Families tell us the atmosphere is what decided them, and we would rather be judged on that than on any list of facilities.
We also take people for short respite stays, whether that is to give a carer at home a rest or to help somebody regain confidence after a spell in hospital. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Do come and see us before you decide.
