About Us

Eastbourne Road is a small care home run by The Regard Partnership. We provide residential care for adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places.

Being a small house is the point rather than a limitation. The week can be arranged around a handful of individuals instead of a rota, and people are known in detail rather than in general. That matters most when something is wrong, because staff who know somebody well can tell the difference between a bad mood and pain, between boredom and distress, and between wanting to be left alone and quietly withdrawing.

The people living here have a genuine say in the ordinary decisions. What is bought and cooked, how their rooms look, where they go and who comes to visit. Where somebody wants to build a skill or take on something new, we put effort behind it rather than recording it as an aim.

Being by the coast means getting out is easy, and we make use of that.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.

Families and social workers are welcome to visit and ask us anything.
