About Us
We provide a home in Eastbourne for autistic adults and adults with learning disabilities.
Our whole approach rests on a simple point: autistic people are not all alike, and support only works when it is built around the individual. So we spend a great deal of time learning how a person communicates, what they find intolerable, what settles them, how much warning they need before anything changes and what they actually want to do with their time. The written plan matters far less than staff who know these things properly.
The house runs as a household. Everyone has their own room arranged how they like it, and the shape of the week is worked out with the people who live here rather than handed down. Predictability is treated as a serious matter here rather than a preference, so we keep staffing as settled as we can and explain changes in advance. Where somebody wants to do more, whether that is work, a course, a regular trip out or learning to manage something themselves, we work towards it at their pace.
Respite stays are available alongside longer places.
At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us outstanding overall. We are pleased with that and conscious that a rating describes a moment rather than a guarantee. Please come and visit and meet the people who live here.
