About Us
Little Oaks Residential Home is in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. We look after older people who need help with daily life but not nursing care, including a good number living with dementia, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places. We are small, and that is the thing that matters most about us. Staff know everybody properly rather than approximately, and they tend to stay. Nobody is hurried through a wash or a meal. With a small number of people you can simply ask each of them what they want from a day rather than running a programme and hoping it suits. What we offer is help with the ordinary day. Getting washed and dressed in a way that leaves somebody feeling like themselves. Medicines on time. Meals that are hot, recognisable and worth eating. Help to move about the building safely. Company for people who had been sitting alone most of the week before they came. For residents with dementia the work is mostly about consistency. The same staff, the same rhythms, a bedroom that looks like the person's own room, and going at their pace rather than ours. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us or simply call in.
