About Us
215 Hughenden Road provides residential care in High Wycombe for adults, including younger adults and adults with learning disabilities and autism. We also offer planned respite stays.
We are a small home and the people who live here are adults with their own lives rather than a group to be managed together. Everybody has their own room, their own routine and a real say in how the house runs. Our staff help with personal care, medicines, meals, money and the ordinary work of keeping a household going, and we deliberately stand back where somebody can manage alone, because independence is easily eroded by being helpful.
For adults with learning disabilities and autism, the particulars matter enormously. How a person communicates, what makes an environment tolerable, how much notice they need before something changes, and which parts of the day they would rather handle themselves are all things we learn from the person rather than assume from a diagnosis. When change cannot be avoided, we prepare for it properly and at their pace.
Life here is not meant to stop at the front door. We support people to keep up with family and friends and to get to the groups, activities, work or college that matter to them.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please visit, and spend time with the people who already live here.
