About Us
St Mary's Residential Care Home is in Bristol. We support older people, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and people living with mental ill health, including younger adults, and we offer both permanent places and respite stays. Supporting that range of people well means being specific rather than general. For an older resident it may mean unhurried help with personal care, safe support with moving about, medication given properly and somebody nearby at night. For an adult with a learning disability or an autistic adult it may mean a predictable routine, clear information given in good time, and support to manage money, appointments and getting out to a job or a course. For somebody living with mental ill health it may mean a settled, low pressure place to live and close work with the community mental health team. Every plan is written with the individual and reviewed properly. We try to keep the house feeling ordinary rather than institutional: food is cooked here and people are asked what they would like, there is somewhere sociable and somewhere quiet, and nobody is obliged to join in with anything. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please arrange to visit and see how the house runs.
