About Us
Oakworth Manor Care Home is a residential home in Keighley. We support older people, including those living with dementia, people living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people whose sight or hearing is impaired. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places.
We should say at the outset that our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are not going to gloss over it. We know what was found, we have an improvement plan and we are working through it with our staff team and with families, reporting progress to the inspectors and to the local authority. Anyone thinking about a place here should ask us exactly what is changing and how we are making sure it holds.
What we are working to protect meanwhile is a home where people are known rather than processed. Rooms that belong to the person in them. A day that is not run by a timetable. Visitors welcome without fuss. Staff who notice when somebody is not themselves.
For people living with dementia we focus on familiarity and time, and where sight or hearing has changed we pay attention to the practical adjustments that keep somebody connected rather than cut off.
Please come and look round, talk to our staff and put the difficult questions to us.
