About Us
Windsor Court Care Home provides residential care in Bournemouth for older people, including people living with dementia and adults with learning disabilities and autism. We also take planned respite stays.
We try to make this feel like a home rather than somewhere people have been placed. Residents get up when they want, spend their days as they choose, keep their own belongings about them and have visitors whenever it suits them. Our staff help with personal care, medicines, meals and the practical running of the place, and they do it in a way that leaves people as much say as possible over their own lives.
For residents living with dementia, familiarity does most of the work. The same faces, a recognisable shape to the day, and time to do things at the pace somebody can manage. Where somebody communicates in their own way, we learn how they do it, and where the day needs to be predictable we keep it predictable and prepare properly for anything that has to change.
Respite stays give family carers a genuine rest, and they let somebody find out what we are like before making a bigger decision.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask residents and relatives regularly how we are doing, and we act on the answers.
