About Us
Here at White Lodge & St Helens, we provide residential care for older adults in the heart of Bournemouth, and we take real pride in the community we have built here. Our home is rated Good by the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the genuine effort our team puts into making sure every person who lives with us feels safe, comfortable and valued.
We support people with a wide range of needs, including dementia, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We also offer respite care for those who need a short stay, whether that is to recover after a hospital admission or to give a family carer some time to rest. Whatever brings someone to our door, we do our best to make the transition feel as easy and as personal as possible.
Dementia care is something we approach with particular thoughtfulness. We understand how disorienting and unsettling this journey can be, not just for the person living with dementia but for their loved ones too. We work hard to create an environment that feels familiar and calm, where routines offer reassurance and where dignity is always at the centre of everything we do.
Families matter to us a great deal. We encourage visits, welcome involvement in care planning, and want relatives to feel like partners rather than bystanders. Open, honest communication is something we genuinely believe in.
Our team members know the people in their care as individuals, with histories, preferences and personalities that go far beyond any care plan. We take the time to listen, to learn what matters to each person, and to build the kind of trust that makes daily life feel meaningful rather than just managed.
If you would like to find out more or arrange a visit, we would love to hear from you.
