About Us
We at High Peak Lodge Residential & Nursing Home are proud to offer compassionate nursing care in the heart of Leigh, within the Wigan borough. Our home provides a welcoming environment where residents receive professional support tailored to their individual needs, whether they require long term nursing, dementia care, or specialist assistance.
Set within the WN postcode area of Leigh, our home benefits from its position in a well connected part of the North West, allowing families to visit easily whilst residents enjoy the comforts of a settled community setting. The surroundings offer a calm and homely atmosphere, where residents can feel safe, valued, and genuinely at ease.
Our team supports a broad range of needs, recognising that no two residents are the same. We provide care for older people, including those living with dementia, as well as adults with mental health needs, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. We also welcome younger adults whose circumstances require nursing support. In practice, this means our approach is grounded in understanding each person as an individual, building care plans around their preferences, routines, and the things that bring them comfort. For families, it offers the reassurance that their loved one is being looked after by people who are trained to respond to complex and changing needs with patience and skill.
Dementia care sits at the heart of much of what we do. We aim to create an environment where residents living with cognitive change feel oriented, respected, and supported through every stage of their journey. For those receiving nursing care, our clinical team works closely with healthcare professionals to ensure that medical needs are met within a warm, residential setting rather than a clinical one. Mental health support, sensory care, and assistance for those with physical disabilities are all delivered with the same focus on dignity and inclusion.
Following our most recent inspection in July 2023, the Care Quality Commission rated us as Good across every domain, including Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led. For families, this consistent rating offers meaningful reassurance that the care provided here meets the standards expected of a quality nursing home, with leadership, safety, and compassion recognised across the board.
Choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions a family will ever make, and we understand the weight of that choice. If you are exploring nursing or residential options in Leigh or the wider Wigan area, we warmly invite you to get in touch, ask questions, and take the time you need to find the right home. We are here to listen, to guide, and to offer the kind of care we would want for our own loved ones.
