About Us

Mewsbrook House is a nursing home in Littlehampton. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including people living with dementia, people living with a mental health condition, people with a physical disability and people dealing with alcohol or drug misuse. We also take respite bookings.

Having nurses on the premises changes what can be managed here. Wound care, catheters, complicated medication and health that shifts from one day to the next are dealt with in the home rather than through repeated journeys to hospital, which matters most at the stage when somebody is worn out by being moved around.

The clinical side is only part of the job. People here choose how their day runs, keep their own belongings about them, eat food they actually want and see their families whenever they like. We pay attention to the ordinary details that keep somebody feeling like themselves rather than like a patient.

We are used to supporting people whose needs do not fit neatly into one category, and we try to take each person as they come rather than as a label.

Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
