About Rectory House Nursing Home

We are Rectory House, a nursing home in Lancing. We care for older people, including many living with dementia, people with a physical disability, and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Having qualified nurses on duty at every hour is what allows us to look after people whose health is complicated or liable to change. Problems are noticed early by staff who know the person, treatment starts without waiting for an outside visit, and families are not left wondering about overnight cover. The nursing side is essential but it is not the purpose of the place. People live here, and we work at making that a proper life. Rooms are personalised, people get up and settle at night when they choose, and meals are something to look forward to rather than an item on a timetable. Our staff take time to learn who somebody was before they needed care. For those living with dementia we work patiently and with the person's history in view. We do not correct or reorient. Where a person has a visual or hearing impairment, we make sure every member of staff knows how they prefer to be approached. Relatives are welcome whenever they want to come. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please contact us to arrange a visit.
