About Bletchingley
Bletchingley is a nursing home in Haywards Heath in West Sussex. We care for older people and younger adults who need nursing support, including people living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Respite stays are available too. Having nurses on site around the clock means people whose health is genuinely complicated can stay with us as circumstances change, rather than moving on at the point familiarity counts for most. Wounds, pain, continence, nutrition, medication and safe movement are properly managed here. Because our residents have very different needs, we plan care person by person. What settles somebody with dementia is not what helps somebody living with a long standing mental health condition, and one routine across everybody suits nobody in particular. Where sight or hearing loss is in the picture, small habits carry the weight: saying who you are as you come into the room, leaving furniture where it belongs, making sure glasses and hearing aids are clean and working. We also guard against clinical care turning into a schedule. People choose when they get up, what they wear, what is on the plate and how the day goes. We knock, we explain, and we wait to be told it is all right. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall, and we keep asking residents and relatives what needs our attention.
