About Ashurst Mews Care Home
Ashurst Mews Care Home is a nursing home in Northampton. Qualified nurses are on duty here throughout the day and night. We care for older adults, including many living with dementia, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing, and younger adults whose health needs require nursing. Respite admissions are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement, and it would be dishonest to leave that to the end. We accept the finding rather than disputing it. An inspection sees what is there on the day, and putting it right is our job. There is an action plan, our commissioners know where we have reached with it, and any family considering us is welcome to go through the detail with the manager face to face. Meanwhile the nursing continues and it matters. Medicines, wounds, pain, pressure care, and making sure people eat and drink enough. What is harder than any procedure is noticing early when somebody is not themselves, and that rests on the same staff knowing the same residents, which is exactly where a home under pressure must concentrate. Come and see us on an ordinary afternoon and ask the awkward questions.
