About Cunningham House
We are Cunningham House, a nursing home in Northampton. We care for older people and younger adults who need qualified nursing alongside support with daily living, including people with physical disabilities and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of that and also clear about what it means. It is not a promise that nothing will ever go wrong here. It reflects the fact that we know the people who live here well, that our nursing and care teams are properly supported, and that when something needs putting right we deal with it rather than explaining it away. In daily life that shows in small ways. People get up and go to bed when they choose. Meals are what somebody actually wants to eat. Nursing needs, from medication to wound care to managing pain, are attended to without the place feeling like a hospital ward. Where somebody has a physical disability or a sight or hearing impairment, access and communication get proper attention rather than being an afterthought. Where we care for younger adults, we plan around their own interests and independence rather than a routine built for much older people. Please ring us and come and see the home. Ask us hard questions and we will answer them.
