About Parkhill Nursing Home
Parkhill Nursing Home is in Stalybridge. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with everyday living, including people whose physical disability means they need skilled support to stay comfortable and well. Having nurses on duty at every hour of the day and night is what lets us look after people properly as their health changes. We manage wound and pressure care, continence and catheter needs, diabetes, pain relief and end of life care, and we work closely with GPs, district nurses and hospital teams so that treatment is joined up rather than fragmented. It also means somebody whose condition worsens can usually stay here, with familiar staff around them, instead of facing another move at the hardest possible time. Moving and handling is a large part of our work and we take it seriously. Done properly it is unhurried, explained as it happens and carried out with the right equipment, which is what makes the difference between feeling supported and feeling handled. Respite stays are available for people needing nursing support for a few weeks, including after a hospital discharge. Families across Tameside are welcome to visit. Please ring and we will arrange a time.
