About Milner House
Milner House is a nursing home in Leatherhead, Surrey. We are registered for nursing care, so qualified nurses are on duty here at every hour rather than visiting, and that is usually the reason families come to us instead of to a residential home. Most of the people living with us are older adults. Many have dementia. Some have lived for years with a mental health condition that needs understanding rather than correcting, and a good number have a physical disability requiring daily help with moving and positioning. We also support younger adults whose health needs call for nursing, and we take care that they are not quietly absorbed into a routine designed for people decades older. The clinical work is detailed and unhurried. Medicines, wounds, pain, pressure care, eating and drinking well. The part that no procedure covers is noticing when somebody is simply not themselves, and that depends on the same staff seeing the same residents week after week. Around all of that we try to protect an ordinary life. Choice about rising and dressing, food worth eating, the garden, and visitors at whatever hour someone can get here after work. Respite admissions are available where needs are too clinical for a residential stay. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Come and look round and ask whatever you need to ask.
