About Us

We are Oulton Abbey Residential and Nursing Home in Stone, Staffordshire, providing nursing care for older people and for adults living with a physical disability, including younger adults. Registered nurses are on duty around the clock, which means clinical needs are met here rather than through repeated trips out, and a change in somebody's condition is noticed early by people who know them well.

Many of the people we support have complex physical needs and want a life that is not defined by them. That shapes how we work. We assist with mobility, personal care and health needs in a way that leaves as much control as possible with the individual, and we plan the day around what they actually want to do rather than around what is convenient for us. People keep their own rooms and their own belongings, and the routines that matter to them carry on.

We also offer respite stays. Respite gives family carers a genuine break and gives the person staying a change of scene, and we prepare for those stays carefully so that nobody arrives to a room full of strangers.

Our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection rated us good overall, which we take as a standard to keep meeting rather than something to display. Relatives and friends are welcome whenever they wish to come and to stay involved as much as the person wants. If you are considering us, please visit, meet the team and see how the place feels on an ordinary day.
