About Us
Tall Oaks Care Home provides nursing care in Stoke on Trent for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. Registered nurses are on site at all hours.
Nursing care can easily become a list of tasks, and we work to stop that happening here. The clinical side is done thoroughly, with skin, pain, medication, nutrition and continence checked properly rather than assumed. But the reason somebody is here is to live, not to be managed, so we pay equal attention to whether people are getting outside, seeing who they want to see, eating things they enjoy and having something in the week worth being up for.
For people living with dementia we work with familiarity and take our lead from how somebody is on the day. Where somebody is unsettled we look for a cause we can address before we consider anything else.
Respite stays are available.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Requires Improvement. We would rather put that in front of you ourselves than have you come across it later. We accept what the inspection found, we are working through an improvement plan, and if you ask us how far we have got we will tell you plainly, including the parts that are not finished.
If you are considering nursing care in Stoke on Trent, please come and look round. Ask about staffing levels, ask what has changed, and ask to speak to families of people already here.
