About Us

Harewood Park is a nursing home in Stoke on Trent supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and people managing mental ill health, including many younger adults whose health needs require nursing input. We provide permanent places and planned respite stays.

Having registered nurses on the team at all times means we can support people whose needs are complex without them being moved between services each time something changes. It also means we can respond properly when someone becomes unwell rather than defaulting to hospital.

A nursing registration does not change the fact that the people who live here are adults with their own preferences, histories and plans. Residents choose how their day runs, what they eat, who visits and how their room looks. Where communication is difficult, the work of finding the right approach belongs to us, whether that involves signing, symbols, technology or simply patience and familiarity.

We pay close attention to environment. Predictability, noise, lighting and knowing what is coming next often make the difference between a settled person and one who is constantly braced, and we shape the place around the people in it.

The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection.

Families, prospective residents and professionals are welcome to visit and ask us directly how we would support the person they have in mind.
