About Us

Green Heys and Kemp Lodge is a nursing home in the Liverpool area, supporting older people who need nursing care, including many living with dementia. We also welcome respite guests.

With registered nurses on site, health needs are looked after here rather than becoming a reason for someone to be moved elsewhere. Medication, wounds, continence, long term conditions and end of life care are all managed in the home, by staff who already know the resident.

Good nursing care rests on knowing people well. A resident who cannot easily say that something hurts will show it in another way, and it is the staff who know their usual manner who pick it up. We keep teams as consistent as we can for that reason, and we treat time spent with residents as part of the work rather than something that happens after the tasks are done.

Our dementia care follows the same logic. Familiar faces, a predictable day, a calm building, and following the person rather than correcting them. When someone is distressed we look for the cause, and families are usually the best guide to what helps.

Respite stays are available, including recovery periods after hospital.
