About Talbot Court
Talbot Court is a nursing home in West Bromwich providing nursing care for older people and younger adults, including adults with learning disabilities and autism and people with physical disabilities. We also offer planned respite stays. Qualified nurses are here throughout the day and night, which means health needs can be managed as they change and medicines properly reviewed, by people who know the person rather than just the notes. For adults with complex needs it also means we can support somebody whom many settings would turn away. Nursing alone would not make this a good place to live. The people here are residents first, and we work hard to keep ordinary life going: choosing your own routine, having your own things around you, seeing family whenever you like, and being asked rather than told. Where somebody communicates in their own way, we learn how they do it. Where somebody has a physical disability, we agree together how they want to be helped, which is usually not how a manual would describe it. Where the day needs to be predictable, we keep it predictable and prepare properly for anything that has to change. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people who live here and their families how we are doing, because a rating is a snapshot and daily life is the real measure.
