About Us

Merryfield House Nursing Home is in Witney, Oxfordshire. We provide nursing care for older people and for younger adults whose health needs require qualified nursing support, with registered nurses on duty around the clock.

Our nursing work covers long term conditions, wound and pressure area care, nutrition and hydration, continence support and medication, in close contact with GPs, district nurses and hospital teams. We also support residents living with dementia, residents with learning disabilities and autism, residents with physical disabilities, and residents living with sight or hearing loss. Each of those groups needs something different from us, and we would rather adjust how we work than expect people to adapt to a single routine.

What we care about most is that clinical needs never crowd out the person. Someone living here should still get to choose what time they get up, what they eat, where they sit and who they see. Families are welcome and we encourage them to stay closely involved, because they know things about their relative that we never would otherwise.

Respite stays are available for people needing nursing support for a short period and for families who need a planned break.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering Merryfield House, please visit, meet our nurses and carers, and ask us anything you like.
