About OSJCT The Meadows
We are The Meadows, a nursing home in Didcot, Oxfordshire. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside help with daily living, including people living with dementia, and we also welcome respite stays. Having nurses on duty at every hour means we can look after changing and complex health needs without somebody having to move again just as they have settled. Medication, wound care, continence, pain and the gradual frailty that comes with very old age can all be managed here. Families tell us that continuity is the thing they were most anxious about, and it is why we work at keeping our nursing team stable. We are equally concerned with the parts of the day that have nothing to do with nursing. People get up when they want, eat what they like, sit where they choose and keep their own habits. We ask about the details of a life, the work someone did, the music they like, the hour they prefer to be left in peace, because those things are what allow staff to see the person rather than the diagnosis. Respite stays help families who are looking after someone at home and need a genuine break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us and arrange to visit, ideally at a busy time of day when you can see how the place really runs.
